Life is hard, disappointments come,
Dreams are lost as we journey on.
Life is hard, sometimes people leave,
Families change and we’re left to grieve.
I’ve seen that day, but now I say,
Though your heart is weary,
And you think you’ve lost your way,
Listen now – this is what God says to you today.
I know the plans I have for you,
To give you joy and take your sorrow.
My promises for you are true,
Hope for today and for tomorrow.
I gave my Word to light your way,
To guide the life that you are living.
And if you stumble, hear my say,
“My love is strong, and I’m forgiving.
Cast all your cares upon My shoulders.
My love will bear your fear and pain.
I’ll never leave you nor forsake you.
I am your Fortress and Strength!”
The child we celebrate at Christmas,
That baby born in Bethlehem,
Took on the flesh of His creation
To bring the hope of life to man!
He know the plans He has for you (His plans to give you joy),
To give you joy and take your sorrow (He’ll take your sorrow).
His promises for you are true,
Hope for today and for tomorrow (for today and tomorrow).
He know the plans He has for you (Help me, Lord, to understand),
To give you joy and take your sorrow (to hear Your voice, to feel Your hand).
His promises for you are true (Can I trust you with my life?),
Hope for today (God, I need hope for today)
and for tomorrow (tomorrow).
(Oh, Lord, I need to know You’re there).
